Alamo Square Park is the Alamo Square neighborhood's central focus point. The park is made up of four city blocks at the top of the hill overlooking downtown San Francisco. The park has a playground, and a tennis court. Many architectural landmarks are visible one a clear day from the center of the park such as city hall, the Transamerica Pyramid and the tops of the Golden Gate Bridge and the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge. One of the most distinguished features the park and neighborhood has is the Victorian houses across from the park called the "Painted Ladies". The Painted Ladies and the Alamo Square Park are featured in a number of movies, TV shows and commercials including The Invasion of the Body Snatchers, and the opening sequence of the American sitcom Full House.
Dogs are allowed in the eastern part of the park on a leash and off a leash in the western area specified for dogs.
